This factory Dove blue Westy had 75k original miles before we started fixing her up. We started with the running gear of course, in the front you have a Wagenswest (link pin) 5 inch narrowed caster beam with 5 inch (zero offset) bus to Porsche 944 spindles, hubs, rotors and Porsche four piston calipers, the hubs are machined and re studded for 5/100 mm bolt pattern perfect for running 17 inch new beetle brms.
The wheel wells have been tubbed 3 inches, the steering box has also been raised 3 inches so no busted boxes here.

The wheels are 17x7 off of a 02 Jetta.

In the rear it is a Wagenswest type one IRS kit with notched frame rails custom shock mounts and 02 Jetta rear disk brakes. The transmission is a single side case 3.88 from a late Beetle; it shifts and drives very nice.

The motor is a nice A case 1600 single port with a Kadron exhaust really nothing fancy but reliable.

Overall this bus has been gone thru from top to bottom repairing any rust we found with proper sheet metal, rebuilding windows and installing new seals. It was a lot of work.

The side windows were resealed and tinted glass was installed.

We/I did not intend this bus to be a perfect show bus our sole intention was to build a very fun and cool driver and that is what we did, it is not perfect but very nice.
